About The Lab Coat Pocket
We believe that any scientist has a story to tell, a message to bring to the masses. However, not everyone has the means to create a space where their message can be heard.
“The Lab Coat Pocket” started in late 2024 as a one-person project, with the sole purpose of trying something new. Within the first couple of months, the idea of a simple, lone science blog grew into something bigger, the idea of a writing network. Still allowing its primary cause to function as a space for personal expression but is no longer confined to just one individual.
In contrast to the big scientific blogging networks, we believe that it is also important to open up the benefits of a writer's network to those who have not yet proven themselves through previous writing expertise. With this project, we want to open up the space to those, who are willing to write their science story without committing to a part-time profession as a science writer. Be it a one-off story, a few pieces here and there or regular postings, if you are genuine about bringing something to the table, we believe you should have the opportunity to do so.
We, as a collaborative network, focus exclusively on science writing as a form of expression. We tend generously to all STEM fields and aim to feature a variety of different topics, research-spanning articles and opinion pieces on our platform. However, as we were born out of the bio-medical research area we’ll always have a soft spot for bio-med-science.
If you found your way here, let me welcome you and invite you to stay. Maybe you even want to participate, to which means let me direct you to our “Write for us” section.
